About Henny Boogert
Henny Boogert (1962) first got into photography at age 16. His first camera was a Pentax ME Super. In 1983, he started his professional specialisation at Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam where he studied photography for two years. Originally fascinated by documentary photography, he has been exploring a broad range of other genres since, from apparel and food to nature, sports, reportage and corporate.
Henny’s work is typified by a process in which action and dynamics play essential roles. On many of his photographs we see people moving, not in a glamorous way, but with an emphasis on the purity of the action, emotions and facial expressions associated. His most outstanding project so far, entitled ´Images connect´, took him around the globe for several years, portraying students in their room.
Depending on the assignment, Henny always appreciates new challenges coming his way. Among the steady elements of his photography is the cooperation with Wim Hof, ´The Ice Man´, which is still continuing after 40 years.
